Managing Director, Senior Wealth Advisor

Following a successful financial career as an advisor and consultant that has spanned more than 50 years, Luis co-founded Fuentes Hondermann Wealth Management, an independent firm, with his partners in 2022. He started his career at Merrill Lynch in 1971, working there for 41 years as an international financial advisor, leading and mentoring various teams during his tenure. In 1987, he was one of the founding members of Merrill Lynch International in Miami, Florida. He has dedicated his career to clients, families and institutions in Latin America, Europe and the Unites States, by providing financial solutions and advice. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration and majors in Finance, Economics and Marketing. Luis also completed studies in Portfolio Modern Theory & Risk and Wealth Planning at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He is licensed by FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), Series 7 & Series 66 (Certification Uniform Combined State Law), and is certified as a Consulting Group Advisor. Fluent in English and Spanish, Luis was born in Havana, Cuba, and currently lives in Key Biscayne, Florida, with his wife of 57 years, Gisela. He enjoys sports, fine dining & triathlons.
